"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble."
Psalm 46:1

 Counseling Approach:
Kevin is trained in clinical mental health counseling and provides clinically sound interventions, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to challenge irrational thinking in clients with depression and/or anxiety and exposure response prevention (ERP) for clients suffering from OCD. Beyond empathetically listening to his clients, Kevin is passionate about teaching them the skills to apply outside of the office. He achieves this by assigning homework, such as worksheets and reflection activities, that motivate clients to take inititiative in their efforts towards positive change. Kevin's motto is "you get out what you put in," and can testify that clients who are motivated and committed in their therapy work WILL see results. Kevin believes that Jesus Christ is the "Wonderful Counselor" and Ultimate Healer and therefore integrates clinical interventions with Biblical counseling and faith-based promises from God's Word. Kevin begins each of his counseling sessions with prayer and invites the Holy Spirit to guide his work. Scripture reading and Christian counseling literature/worksheets are assigned to clients as a vital part of therapy. This being said, Kevin realizes there may be potential clients who do not profess to be of the Christian faith, but come to counseling seeking a change in their lives. Kevin offers an open arms policy and gladly accepts these clients.
